The Sex And The City sequel saga rages on, with Patricia Field now adding to the confusion.

First Kim Cattrall blabbed on TV that their would definitely be a sequel, quickly followed by co-star Sarah Jessica Parker hotly denying that anything had been confirmed.

Now SATC's stylist Patricia Field has revealed that she believes a sequel will hit the screen, but it won't happen for a long time yet.

"I do believe it will happen, because [creator] Michael Patrick King himself told me it's gonna happen. But I haven't really received any official information yet." she reportedly told MTV News.

Despite this latest confusing news, Field also warned fans that they shouldn't get their hopes up just yet, as it will be a while before the movie is released.

"King has to write a new script. It's a long process. I don't think it will happen in 2009," she said. "But you never know. Maybe the end [of the year]. That's unofficial. I have really no idea. I don't think there's a set date anyway. It's in the really early process."

The first big screen outing in May last year was a global success, so much so that fans instantly clamoured for a follow up.

We're still waiting for the official announcement to come, but to be honest we kind of thought it was official already, what with SJP excitingly talking about the sequel starting to film in the summer and all!
