Sarah Burton favourite for Designer of the Year
The creative designer for luxury label Alexander McQueen and the woman behind the most famous wedding dress of the year is the favourite to take the title.
Among the shortlist are Erdem Moralioglu, another favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge, whose navy lace dress Kate wo
re on her tour to Canada with new husband Prince William.
Burton has lived in a worldwind over the past year. Since her legendary friend McQueen committed suicide last year and she became head of the label this recommendation tops of an incredibly successful year for the talented designer.
Both Kate and her bridesmaid, sister Pippa's dresses were designed by Sarah Burton, both of which have received worldwide praise, with styles copied and in the shops only a few weeks after the wedding in April.
This is the second year in a row Erdem has been nominated for this award. He also has many celebrity fans from politicians wives including
Michelle Obama, Sarah Brown and Samantha Cameron to red carpet A-listers in Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller.
One of Vogue editor Anna Wintour's favourite designers is also up for the prestigious title, Christopher Kane. Although the favourite remains Burton for her royal masterpiece.
Desinger brand of the year nominations include new mum Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney, Tom Ford and Burberry.
Newcomer Georgia Jagger has received a nomination for model of the year. The 19-year-old is the daughter of rock legend Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall.
