The legendary Hollywood director is set to work on the film which will follow the history od the Gucci family through the last 30 years according to the Sun.
The film promises to be full of action and fashionable bitchiness as it traces the history of a family notorious for its bitter power struggles and drawn out infighting
The fashion house was founded in Florence by Guccio Gucci in 1906 but it is believed that the film will mostly focus on the period from 1983, when Maurizio Gucci (Guccio's grandson) took over the empire until his death in 1995.
Maurizio was killed in a shooting on the eve of a fashion show hosted by, Tom Ford, who had just started working for the house. His ex-wife was later convicted of arranging the killing.
There is no news on when the film is due to start filming but watch this space for all the latest gossip.
