Pete Doherty was named amongst icons such as David Bowie and Steve McQueen in a list of the 50 Most Stylish Men in the Past 50 Years.

Italian movie star Marcello Matroianni, Bob Dylan and Johnny Depp were also named in the list compiled by GQ magazine.

Elvis Presley, Bryan Ferry, Paul Newman, Miles Davis, Cary, Grant, Marlon Brando, Robert Redford, Al Pacino, Warren Beatty and Sean Connery also make the list.

This isn't the first time Doherty has mixed it up in the fashion stakes. He appeared in an ad campaign for designer Roberto Cavali when he was dating Kate Moss.

Cavalli had originally booked model Moss for the Ibiza shoot but asked Doherty to take part too when the rocker showed up with his girlfriend.

There were few other surprise addition to the list as well as scruffy Pete. Woody Allen, Beck and punk icons The Ramones are all considered stylish too.
