Budget fashion chain Peacocks has seen an increase in sakes proving further that we are going for cheap and cheerful when it comes to clothes shopping in the recession.
The Guardian reports that Peacocks's like-for-like sales had grown by 8% over the last three months. The chain also opened five new shops over the same time period.
It is looking to expand even further by taking on six new locations left empty by the closure of Woolworths and even planning to open 40 new shops over the financial year.
The shop believes that its success was down to its ability to respond quickly to fashion trends.
Fellow budget chain Primark also reported an increase in like-for-like sales at 5%.
