Pamela Anderson would rather her men be stinky than use AXE men's body spray.

I can exclusively report that Anderson has turned down a lucrative deal to star in an AXE ad campaign because its parent company—Unilever—apparently uses animal testing.

"I realize that Unilever has taken significant steps to reduce the amount of animal tests that it conducts," Anderson wrote in a letter yesterday to Unilever's president, Michael B. Polk.

"Although I appreciate the fact that you are making progress on this front, please note that I will only consider working with your company after it has eliminated all animal testing."

In a statement Anderson says, "The company's animal tests stink. Their failure to switch to modern skin and computer tests means that, for animals, the 'AXE effect' means feeling sick and dying."

Anderson also directed Polk to call—what else?—PETA if he wanted to learn more about animal testing.

A rep for Unilever did not comment.

Anderson seems to be targeting a different company on animal rights issues on an almost daily basis these days. Most recently, she has gone after Uggs, Kentucky Fried Chicken and POM Juice.
