Sales of onesies have soared 505% at George at Asda this week as celebs are spotted rocking the latest all-in-one trend. Previously a garment fashionistas would not be seen in, onesies are now the ultimate must-have with celebrity fans including Cheryl Cole, One Direction and Tulisa turning the all-in-one into a high street number 1.
Sales are up 606% since this time last year, and the word “onesie” has been noted the most searched for term online at George.com.
George predicts sales will continue to soar up the fashion charts during the festive season. In response to phenomenal customer demand George is currently stocking the shelves full of onesies in anticipation with a total of one million onesies scheduled to fly off the shelves before Christmas Day.
For online surfers George is launching an exclusive ‘Onesie Shop’, providing several styles under one virtual roof including cartoon and superhero favourites - a 101 Dalmation and the much anticipated men’s Incredible Hulk onesie, already spotted on Keith Lemon and expected to sell out within 24 hours of going on sale. For designer style at high street prices the shop even includes a Christmas Fair Isle style inspired by the Burberry A/W 2012 catwalk.
Results from a George at Asda Facebook poll revealed that 42% of shoppers will be buying onesies as gifts for under theChristmas tree this year and a third stating the onesie will be their outfit of choice on Christmas Day, providing the ultimate comfort-factor for the turkey and mince pie fest.
With prices from only £9, George onesies are 1,666% cheaper than many high street versions, maintaining quality and style without the need to splurge for Christmas comfort.
