Michelle Obama's Inauguration outfit hit the headlines last month as Michelle emerged as one of the best dressed First Ladies America has seen and now the staggering cost of the outfit has been revealed.
New York Magazine reports that the yellow fabric used for Michelle's Isabel Toledo dress and jacket costs $500 a yard.
For 6 foot Michelle that is quite a bit of fabric, and hence quite a bit of money, as you'd need at least three yards.
A Spring version of the outfit will be available from Barneys in March for $1500, presumably made from cheaper fabric.
Michelle isn't usually so flash, she regularly dresses her children in high street clothes so we think she can be forgiven for splashing out this once, after all it was a pretty special occasion!
