Matthew Williamson's H&M collection hits the shops today, if there's any left after celeb fans have been snapping it up left right and centre, but how did the collaboration actually come around? Believe it or not we can thank Madonna!
The singer, and also former H&M designer, invited Williamson to one of his first ever parties in London and he continued to make the guest list until he eventually met H&M's Margareta van den Bosch at one of the Kabbalah shin digs, Grazia reports.
Margareta of course snapped him up pretty promptly and the rest, as they say, is history.
So we guess thanks are in order Madge. We, and Ginnifer Goodwin, Katy Perry and Nicky Hilton, thank you for bringing the colourful, peacock patterned creations into our lives!
Matthew also told how he never thought he was too cool for mainstream faashion, telling the Times: "I never thought commercial was a dirty word. I've never not wanted to dress a celebrity on the grounds that they were too mainstream."
