Marc Jacobs launched the long awaited arrival of his diffusion range on Friday night.

The designer showcased his Marc-by-Marc Jacobs collection at Claridges Hotel followed by a store launch at his new boutique in Mayfair.

Jacobs is one of the hottest names in fashion and it is the first time his collection has shown outside New York.

Hollywood stars including Sophia Coppola and Selma Blair jetted in for the event, which fittingly marked the end of London Fashion Week.

Jacobs said in an interview with the Guardian that he is a ‘ total Anglophile’ and always wanted to show in London.

He added:" I've always felt there was shared aesthetic between New York people and London people in terms of music, pop culture and trendy fashion, so I think this is a fun thing to do."
