Marc Jacobs is rumoured to be dressing Kate Moss

The 2009 MET Costume Institute Gala is shaping up to be quite the event of the season, especially if some of the crazy rumours flying around actually turn out to be true!

Apparently the event has a "Model as Muse" theme and the organisers are reportedly going to extreme lengths, to make sure details of the night are kept under wraps.

However, according to FWD there are a few leaks which have already began to cause some buzz in the fashion world, including some scoop that tables are significantly down compared to last year.

Despite this, sponsor Marc Jacobs will be commanding a large amount of space for him and his fiance, in addition to dressing some of the world's most beautiful women.

He will reportedly kit Kate Moss and Helena Christensen out in Marc Jacobs on the night, while dressing Madonna and Kerry Washington in Louis Vuitton.

There are also some wicked whispers doing the rounds that Halle Berry will be dressed by Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa, while Chanel legend Karl Lagerfeld will reportedly dress Audrey Tautou and Diane Kruger.

Gisele Bundchen is rumoured to be attending the ball with John Galliano, so we wonder is if she will be sampling his style for the event?

One things for sure however, and that's that all eyes will be on Jessica Alba for the event, as she's rumoured to be following in Michelle Obama's footsteps by wearing a gown by Jason Wu, according to FWD.

Will it top that one shoulder wonder which made Michelle a global fashion star though? Watch this space...
