The wedding dress that left us all breathless

The wedding dress that left us all breathless

Kate Middleton made her way out of the car and landed on the steps of Westminster and people all the world over gasped.

She was absolutely breathtaing in her Alexander McQueen wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton.

As we approach the one year anniversary of the wedding of the decade we take a look at the Duchess' most standout fashion choices, and what a year it has been.

Throughout these past 12 months she's stucj to what she knows and what she's comfortable in, which has let her grace and beauty shine through.

A worthy Princess and a worth fashion icon, this is twelve months of Kate Middleton's fashion picks.

The Wedding Dress

Speculation was rife of who she would choose and what style she would opt for and she made the perfect decision in both.

Sarah Burton's gown was nothing short of beautiful. The intracte lace detailing, the stunning train, everything was perfection.

And ofcourse, this spawned hundreds of copies. The first of which was on sale just a few days after the wedding.

Meeting the Obamas

In a simple nude dress from the British high street, Kate met the President and the First Lady.

In a matter of hours this dress was sold out and was even spotted on Lydia Bright from The Only Way is Essex.

ARK 10th Anniversary Gala

Championing more British designers, Catherine opted for a beautiful Jenny Packham gown.

She let the simple sparkle of the gown do all of the talking, pairing it with her engagement ring and mega watt smile.

2011 Wimbledon Championships

A simple white dress in the British sun. She spent the day at the tennis with her husband and looked beautiful in a white, pleated Temperley London dress.

The Middleton's have been huge fans of tennis throughout the years, and Pippa has been pictured attending many times.

Prince William and the Duchess showed off their fun side by partaking in a Mexican wave with the rest of the crowd.

Macdonald Cartier International Airport

And so, the newly married couple were taking a tour of Canada and America. At the airport Kate was spotted in another British designer, this time Erdem.

The navy lace dress was simple but effective.

Another outstanding choice was made. She paired it with her favourite nude pumps and a blow dry to make us all jealous.

Calagary Airport Canada

Kate had a Marilyn Monroe moment with her lemon Jenny Packham dress at the airport.

A pretty pick from the Duchess.

The Foundation Polo Challenge

Another Jenny Packham dress and another pretty pick. She's sticking to
what she knows with the simple shapes and not revealing too much flesh whilst doing so.

This dress was very event appropriate.

BAFTA Brits to Watch

Later on in the evening she attended the BAFTA Brits to Watch event wearing another custom made Alexander McQueen gown.

Proving that pairing the Duchess with this designer is always going to be a perfection fashion choice.

The stunning lilac gown, with a pearl waistband, highlighted just how slim Catherine is.

On this night she held her own against some Hollywood heavyweights like Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Kidman.

Birmingham Visit

Another Alexander McQueen choice, this time from the Pre-Fall 2011 collection.

Navy is a favourite colour of the Duchess' and she always look smart wearing it.

Sun Military Awards

When she stepped onto the red carpet everyone instantly referred to Diana's black velvet gown.

Kate obviously made hers more current and stylish, again designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

She paired it with a beautiful diamond necklace and let her hair fall around her shoulders.

War Horse Premiere

Another lace dress, this time by Alice Temperley. The Duchess was out celebrating her 30th Birthday at the War Horse premiere.

She looked elegant.

African Cats Premiere

Just this past week the Duchess and William attended the London Premiere of Guy Ritchie's new film.

She wore a Matthew Williamson grey peplum dress.

It was a refreshing change to see her wear this designer and she looked beautiful.

The stunning embellishment on the sleeves and neckline added something extra.

In this horrible British weather, Catherine managed to bring some sunshine to the event.

Over the past couple of months she hasn't
attended many big events so we have yet to see a another big gown from the Duchess.

Which is your favourite from the past year? Which designer should she try next?
