Kate Middleton Flying the Flag for British Fashion

Kate Middleton Flying the Flag for British Fashion

This week is no different for the newly wed Duchess of Cambridge as she was spotted at the races with husband Prince William, brother-in-law Prince Harry and a whole host of other guests.

Again Kate was wearing a Reiss dress, her second in about as many weeks, reinforcing her as not only a style icon, but one who is doing wonders for British fashion and promoting accessible fashion.

We simply cannot get over our Kate fever as she was spotted in a white chiffon Reiss dress, a waffle jacket by Joseph and nude patent pumps and a diamante encrusted clutch both by LK Bennett. Though some may say the new royal is becoming a little boring with her nude colour palette, not all fashion icons have to be daring and contoversial. It takes a lot of fashion savvy to pull off class time and time, particularly when your every fashion move is being watched and judged and all the while flying the flag for affordable British fashion.

There is something very honest about Kate's approach to fashion. She is not trying to be anyone else - instead she looks comfortable in her own style that has not changed very much in her whole relationship with the Prince William. Both she and Wills are a modern couple with their own minds, as reflected in their stunning wedding ceremony in April, and their tastes in fashion reflect this.

Modern, in-the-moment fashion is just what we would expect to see from Kate and if she's keeping British labels in the spotlight then even better. Reiss's website crashed last week as a result of the interest paid to the schola dress she wore to meet the First Lady, Michelle Obama - a good thing for fashion!

Like so many bloggers and journalists, I cannot wait to see what Kate is seen in next. I only hope that it is received as well as her previous outfits and the labels she is spotted in don't take advantage of the opportunity and bump up the price. Something tells me that our Kate will simply find another underdog to support and bring them to the top alongside herself!
