The designer has agreed a deal Jamey Hargreaves, son of the founder of the successful UK clothing chain Matalan.
The size of Jamey Hargreavesâ investment has not been revealed, but together they plan to build the Macdonald name into a major glamorous British luxury brand.
Hargreaves will become chairman of Julien Macdonald Ltd. while Macdonald remains its creative director.
âI am very excited to have found a partner who shares my vision for the Julien Macdonald brand and who is wholly committed its long term success,â said Macdonald to fwd.
And Hargreaves seems to have similar ideas: "Long-term strategy will focus on opening owned and partnership stores around the world," he said in a statement.
"With his unique style, great talent and energy, Julien is uniquely positioned to build a leading British luxury brand to rival the biggest names in fashion. This is the beginning of what will be a long and fruitful journey together,â Hargreaves added.
Jamey Hargreaves has 20 years of global retail experience at Matalan, where he held various senior positions, including Head of Menswear and Director of Marketing.
