Jason Wu has revealed he plans to expand his fashion empire by creating a range of cosmetics and shoes, Grazia reports.

The designer also hinted that he won't be collaborating with Manolo Blahnik on the footwear, despite the label creating the shoes for his AW09 collection. This is because he thinks that it is important that the ranges are commercial.

Jason also discussed with Grazia the thinking behind his designs. He said: "I've never been trendy and I don't design trendy things. I design for real women, older women with feminine bodies.

"And I want my pieces to be relevant in 30 years time."

After the media frenzy surrounding Michelle Obama wearing one of Jason's designs the next big star he has set his sights on dressing is Slumdog Millionaire star Frieda Pinto.
