Is Marc Jacobs heading to Dior?
The name Dior has not been too far away from the press' lips over the past year: Their difficult time with former creative director John Galliano, the slightly misplaced runway show at Paris Haute Couture Week, and of course their never ending lines of immaculately designed collections.
Now the high-end, fashion power-house is hitting the headlines for their not so subtle approach to poaching another mighty name in the industry: Marc Jacobs.
Though many names have been linked to the job over the last six months, including Ricardo Tisci, Sarah Burton and Azzedine Alaia, LVMH boss Bernard Arnault has his sights set on fashion favourite Jacobs.
According to Brazilian website Glamurama through Vogue UK, the Arnault and Jacobs have been in talks for weeks, trying to come to a suitable arrangement.
Despite Louis Vuitton being steered by Jacobs, he may take the job with Dior and could potentially still continue with LV, though it is more than likely he will choose between one or the other.
The connection is more than a good thing for the Dior name, which is still recovering from their rough time last year with the disgraced Galliano and his connection to the luxury label.
All that remains to be seen is whether Jacobs can be tempted away from his beloved Louis Vuitton for who he has worked for since 1997.
