Women's wardrobes contain more than £5.8 billion of unworn clothing, according to new research.
It found that on average women own £204 worth of dresses, jeans, tops and skirts which have only been worn once.
The research also revealed that 71% of Brits have bought an item of clothing in the past twelve months which they have only worn once, with a quarter of wardrobe hoarders admitting that they have put on weight since their purchases and aren’t able to fit into them anymore.
“It’s clear we are nation are wardrobe hoarders and need an extra incentive to find the time to sort our clothing out. We are now offering that incentive and with 70% of women waiting over a year between wardrobe clear outs, that means hundreds of pounds of clothes are left unworn in the home but now we’re here to help de-clutter the nations wardrobe. There’s no need to let these unworn items take up valuable wardrobe space because you can now sell your clothing in a hassle free, quick and easy way, along with your other unwanted stuff, online or via your mobile any time.” says Eren Ozagir of musicMagpie.co.uk.
musicMagpie’s fashion service comes in addition to its existing cash CD, DVD, game, electronics and technology offering, which allows customers to make money from household items like games consoles, laptops, hair straighteners, tablets, iPods and kindles.
