Drew Barrymore is the face of Gilles Deacon’s capsule range for New Look.

The actress agreed to front the spring summer range after bumping into a friend of Deacon’s.

British designer of the year Deacon revealed to vogue online that the chance meeting happened in a hotel lift.

He said:” I’d talked to a few colleagues about Drew being a great choice and how much we'd like to feature her.

Then my friend Katie Grand happened to bump into her in the lift of a hotel.”

“She told her about our idea to have her as the face of the advertising campaign, and Drew agreed to do the shots.”

The ‘Gold ‘capsule collection features 35 key pieces in his signature bold colours and prints.

Deacon wanted Barrymore because he thought she would appeal to young women.
