Have you found your perfect party dress yet?

Dress rentals are becoming an increasingly popular means of achieving the ‘look’ women want as the party season approaches, as a new study has revealed that over a third of women are planning to rent a dress for their Christmas parties this year.

The study, conducted by www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, asked 1,892 adult women across the UK what their thoughts were on the costs of the Christmas party season; and what they planned to do about it this year.

According to the results, 87% of the women taking part already knew of a party they planned to go to this Christmas party season; with over half, 55%, planning on wearing a new outfit for the occasion.

When asked if they planned to purchase or rent their party outfit, just over a third of the women taking part said ‘rent.’ Of these, two thirds explained that they planned to rent the new outfit in order to save money, as ‘renting the outfit would be cheaper than buying a new one.’

It costs on average £238 on new outfits for the party season and some people are going to be struggling to find that.

Mark Pearson, chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, commented on the findings:

“Dress rental sites have become increasingly popular over the past few years, and they’re certainly a great option for anyone looking for a new outfit this party season. Whilst renting designer dresses can still be pretty pricey, there are loads of rental dresses on offer that allow you to get some top-end high street bargains, without having to commit to the full whack and buying them.”

It's not just spending the money on the outfit too though, as more than half admitted that outfits they had bought last year had only been worn once.

Mark continued: “The party season is incredibly pricey for men and women alike, so look to cut back on the costs of new outfits wherever possible. Rentals, discount codes and flash sales are all great ways of saving money without making you have to miss out on a new outfit altogether; so keep your eyes peeled!”
