Donatella Versace and her late brother Gianni have received the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award.

Celebrities including Demi Moore, Sharon Stone and former supermodels Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell attended the star-studded party after the ceremony.

Gianni Versace is credited with inventing the ‘ supermodel’ phenomenon.

In 1991 he sent the worlds most famous supermodels on the catwalk to showcase his spring summer 1992 collection.

It changed the fashion landscape and the supermodel was born.

Crawford told the Observer;" A lot of designers were afraid of making the models more famous."

" But Gianni knew that the more famous we were, the better for him. It was all about fame, scale, everything was larger than life."
