Britney Spears With Her Three Awards
The big news of the night at MTVs VMAs was undoubtedly Britney Spears' comeback after a turbulent year for the troubled singer. But last night was finally a sign that Brit is well on the road to recovery, looking unusually fashionable in her choice of dress (Well anything is better than last year.)
Britney wowed the crowd with well-styled hair and glowing skin. She also picked up three gongs for her music, yet another sign that by next year the 'Toxic' singer will be all clean.
We take a look at the fashion hits and misses of the night.
Britney Spears
Looking trimmer and more toned than she has done in months, Britney looked stunning in this one shoulder sparkly dress, that wouldn't of looked out of place in her wardrobe five years ago. Lets face it, if she's going to regain her place as the princess of pop, revisiting the sparkle and glitter that made her famous in the first instant, isn't a bad place to start.
Christina Aguilera
Christina looks gorgeous in this fishtail cocktail dress. Her comeback may have been over shadowed by Brtiney's appearance, but Christina wowed on stage with her new song, and edged ahead in the fashion stakes in this grown-up elegant dress. She also gets extra brownie points from us for her killer new fringe too.
Rihanna
What was this girl thinking? White shoes with a black and yellow dress? It's a fashion crime and we thought the 'Umbrella' singer would know better. We're loving the asymmetric style of the skirt though... if only it didn't look like it had been spray painted.
Pink
This is a bit of a hit and miss dress, because we can't decide if it's cutting edge and totally unique, or whether Pink has ended up looking like an extra from beetlejuice. Either way we think Pink pulls it off with her fierce attitude and rocking punk hair, although we're not sure if anyone else could!
Paris Hilton
Boring hair, mismatched accessories and a awful dress. Yep, Paris did it again last night by turning up looking like a puffball in burgundy and black. The shape of the dress is bang on trend, but the finish looks creased and doll-like on Paris.
Katy Perry
This mismatched outfit does Katy no favours. The 'I kissed a girl' singer won't be kissing any girls in this outfit. We think we know the look she was trying to achieve, and her hair and make-up definitely had a hint of Dita Von Teese about her, except without the fashion sense or the glamour.
