Belle Sauvage

Belle Sauvage

Established in 2007, Belle Sauvage was formed by Virginia Ferreira (Argentine) and Christian Neuman (Luxembourgian).  After meeting in Argentina they moved to London in 2004 to study fashion design and film/arts respectively - where Neuman’s prints proved the perfect juxtaposition to Ferreira’s wild sense of style.

Belle Sauvage’s take on Spring/Summer 2010 fuels their now notorious signature graphics style with surrealist prints featuring fairytale storylines.  While many of the prints are striking and bold, some more delicate styles have emerged for a lighter summer silhouette.

Block colours in shocking scarlet and electric blues create a contrast to the clashing primary hues of the geometric graphic prints and trademark lipstick detailing.

With a nod to futurism this season’s shapes also see a touch of the 90’s, with conical shaped breasts and origami-styled directional cuts on hips, chest and the occasional boxy shoulder.   Zips feature heavily throughout and highlight an abundance of leather detailing and paneled construction as featured on the more full-on biker styled leather dress.  Dupion silks, printed silk scarf’s and hankerchiefs also provide playful accessories.

As well as a new range of Swimwear for Spring/Summer, Belle Sauvage also present a diffusion brand called ‘Leopard’ featuring the ‘Alphaville’ range; channeling comic heroes and urban cyber punks for men and women.

Belle Sauvage has a wide and ever-growing celebrity following Belle Sauvage is a new London based label that has quickly developed a huge celebrity following from La Roux, Lady Gaga and Juliette Lewis to Kelly Osbourne, VV Brown and New Young Pony Club amongst others. and is now stocked in exclusive boutiques in Dubai, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong and London.
