Anna Sui

Anna Sui latest line of clothes is geared towards "punk-rock" teenage girls.

Blair is very girly and has very girly clothes. That's very much like my line as well

The designer has launched a new range based on US TV show 'Gossip Girl' - which is set in New York - for US store Target, and has been inspired by the Brooklyn-based characters Jenny Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams because they have a similar background to her.

She said: "I love the punk-rock style of Jenny. And she has the bangs, just like me! I relate to her style most because I was the Brooklyn girl in high school."

Jenny is played by Taylor Momsen, while Vanessa is Jessica Szohr.

Although she has less in common with Blake Lively and Leighton Meester's rich characters Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf, Anna says their luxury Manhattan lifestyle is catered for in the clothes.

She said: "Blair is very girly and has very girly clothes. That's very much like my line as well."
Anna - who usually designs for the top end of the fashion market - also said she is pleased her clothes are available to people who couldn't never normally afford them.

She told the New York Daily News newspaper: "My line is now going to be available to girls all over and at a price people can easily afford. I think it's a really good thing, especially with what's going on in the economy."
