Snow white Ange

Snow white Ange

The Tomb Raider stunner took to the red carpet in a floor length, snowy white Atelier Versace gown. The dress oozed the same class and grace with have all come to expect from the actress but with the added fashion statement of a wooly/cashmere blended material and a slit up the front of the gown where no slit has gone before.

The dress was different but subtle as it blended into the atmosphere of the high class event and went very well with her Pirates of the Caribbean co-star Johnny Depp and her ever gorgeous partner Brad Pitt on her arm.

Many actresses prefer not to wear jewellery on the red carpet, but it doesn't have to mean bling on every finger and chains around your neck that would put a town mayor to shame

Over the years, Angelina has been followed for her sense of style and fashion and no doubt her latest effort will be added to her growing list of elegant outfits. The warmth of the dress is accentuated in not only the bold material but the use of long sleeves which allows the shape of the dress to flow down her toned arms that are the envy of most women in Tinseltown and beyond.

We doubt Ange would struggle to look bad in anything but this dress really does flatter all her best bits leaving very little to guesswork. The crossover of material that gathers to one side is a simple, yet effective way for designer Versace and Jolie to show off her curves. The dress hugs her waist in a way not too dissimilar to an overcoat showing this dress is as much about comfort as it is style.

Though the low neck line offers depth and shape to Ange's chest - it is a little bare and could have done with a little piece of sparkle to draw the eye in and finish off the outfit. Many actresses prefer not to wear jewellery on the red carpet, but it doesn't have to mean bling on every finger and chains around your neck that would put a town mayor to shame; a delicate pendant would have been perfect.

We have seen plenty of slits and stills on the red carpet but less is sometimes more as they say and, while a small slit up the dress may have added a little detail and definition to the dress, at some angles this one ruins the shape of the dress, making the bottom look too wide and a little box-ish.

The highlight of the dress was the material. Very few dresses have been seen like this before and what is guaranteed to make the hard sell is that the Mr and Mrs Smith star herself has worn it. It has a texture that makes you want to reach out and feel just how silky soft it is and might even be warm enough to tempt us with our sub-zero temperatures.

Ange's only downfall seemed to be her hair. Nobody is arguing that Angelina has beautiful hair, so why not just let it down with some loose ringlets flowing through it. Not only would it compliment the style of the dress in a way a tight bun of hairspray could not, it would look silky and casually coiffed.

Instead this half pony style has been considered messy be some - which is something no girl is going for on the red carpet, particularly if your name is Angelina Jolie and you have the honour of having Brad Pitt as your plus one.
