Millie Mackintosh has her festival style perfected

Millie Mackintosh left us feeling envious last year with her stylish Glastonbury wardrobe, and while she may not be going this year she certainly knows how to get it fashionably right, so we have her tips to share with you.

The Made in Chelsea star is sharing her festival fashion, style and experience tips after teaming up with Sure as part of its Festivals campaign to show off her favourite looks and give her top tips for making the most out of the festival experience.

Millie’s Festival Tips

  • First things first – beauty prep! Before you head off, get a good facial and body scrub and top it off with a gorgeous spray tan to make sure skin looks its best throughout.
  • On the day, as you make your way into the venue, take a second and suss out your route – which stages you’re hitting and when, where you’ll be grabbing a bite and the best area to chill out in – close to the bars and to the loos!
  • I like to get myself in the festival spirit as soon as I arrive – grab a drink, linger outside the crowd, scope out the place, partake in some people-watching and then really get into it when my favourite bands come on.
  • There’s usually stands around the venue offering freebies. Whether it’s fun face-paint, hot henna tattoos, or lush hair and nail pop-up bars, make a pit-stop and do something a little bit wild!
  • I LOVE street food so one of the best things about a festival for me is the amazing selection of street food vendors. Make sure you scope out some fried chicken, burritos, crepes, burgers or some yummy doughnuts.
  • You don’t want to work up a sweat babes, no one likes a sweaty Betty. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, stay hydrated and keep yourself smelling fresh. Pop a small bottle of water and Sure Compressed can into your bag and you’re set!
  • It’s always fun to arrive (slightly) fashionably late, hitting peak time when everyone is starting to get into the swing of things. But don’t overdo it and miss all your favourite bands. Not ideal.
  • Festivals are all about the outfits (they go hand in hand with the music!). I love people-watching, chilling out and checking out what cute outfits others have put together.
  • Speaking of outfits, a change of clothes is a must when you’re camping. You can’t trust the weather so take a few different pieces and looks. A trendy hoodie is always a safe bet!
  • Stay on trend and wear something you might not usually wear day to day. I’m loving the crochet and lace trend at the moment and something with a boho feel would be perfect for festivals.
  • I like to take a minute and refresh during the festival. Find a spot with a bit of shade and relax, top up your make-up, a quick make up top up and then get back to it – you’ll enjoy it more if you pace yourself.
  • And of course, there’s the awesome music. Go and see a good mix of artists so you get a taste for the next big thing! I’m really excited to see, ASAP Rocky, Rudimental and Kiesza this summer.
  • Dance moves are always iffy – when I’m listening to a bit of Iggy Azalea, I think I can twerk but end up dancing around like an idiot! But anything goes at festivals so make sure you dance like no one’s watching.
  • I first blagged my way into a festival VIP area when I was 18 in Sydney’s Good Vibrations Festival – best time ever! Everyone should attempt a cheeky blag at some point, you never know what could happen.
  • The worst part about a festival is the end – sad face. Make sure you take plenty of pics along the way so you don’t forget what an epic time you had. Until the next one…!
