Mariah Carey is without doubt one of the most glamorous superstars in the world, famous in the fashion magazines for flashing plenty of cleavage in tight-fitting fishtail dresses and never being afraid to go OTT with glitter and sparkle. Over the years, she has only pulled out more and more dazzling outfits.
The 'Infinity' singer is the kind of woman who potters around her own house with full make-up, sensual nightgowns and high heels if her social media posts over the holidays are anything to go by. With that in mind, it's no wonder she manages to knock 'em dead with her red carpet looks. Some of our favourites have been her daring, sheer sparkly number by Mark Zunino at the GLAAD Media Awards last year, and her successful attempt at teaming leopard print with fish nets without looking cheap at the NBC Universal Upfront that same year.
Her stage outfits are always just as impressive. She's a Christmas sort of gal, so she always pulls it out of the bag with her holiday performance looks. Take 2012's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Rockefeller Center for example; her deep-plunge, red and silver, mini party dress teamed with matching satin gloves absolutely slayed, as did her sparkling winter white number the following year.
But what of her everyday style? Mariah has been known to walk her dog around New York City in Christian Louboutins and short dresses, and even once took her kids out to Bar Sfizi Pizza looking like a 1940s icon in a monochrome piece with a super large sun hat. She also attended her 2004 Halloween party as a sexy bride. She never does anything by halves.
It's this style genius that makes up for everything that might go wrong in Mariah's life. Her New Year's Eve performance might have sunk badly, but she couldn't have looked better doing it.
