Laura Mvula says wearing Kate Spade New York makes her feel like Audrey Hepburn.
The soul singer is a massive fan of the brand's sophisticated clothing, which she has been wearing since she shot to fame with her BRIT Award-nominated debut, 'Sing to the Moon', last year.
Speaking at the Kate Spade New York Tropical Fête held at their Sloane Square flagship store in London, Laura exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Kate Spade has always been something I've loved. It's always ultra feminine but not in a sickeningly girly way. It's really classy, I feel like a black Audrey Hepburn in the clothes. Lots of people describe my music as quite classy so I feel like I should go for a classy look!
"The dress I'm wearing today is elegant and I love the fact it's got pockets. It's the small things that make such a big difference."
Laura is gearing up for a summer of festivals and has enlisted 'Great British Sewing Bee' designer Chinelo Bally to create custom-made stage looks for her which flatter her figure.
She explained: "She's making incredible pieces for me right now. There's nothing more amazing than clothes that are made to fit your body. What I realised was a lot of clothes are for girls who don't have a chest and sometimes that can make you feel excluded and not feminine, I've had all of those complexes.
"Chinelo has really captured my imagination; we've gone for afro-centric with a classic direction. It's the first time I've had really major comments on the way I look."
Laura was joined by stars including Dionne Bromfield, Lilah Parsons and A*M*E at the event, which celebrated Kate Spade's Chelsea in Bloom Gold Award win for their tropical themed window display by Wild at Heart.
Celebrity stylist Martha Ward was also at hand to help guests create their own floral bouquets and accessories.
