Karlie Kloss' ballet background has influenced her style.
The Victoria's Secret model wanted to be a ballerina when she was growing up and claims the sport's strict dress code has given her a love of minimal make-up and clothing.
She explained: "I grew up dancing, I even wanted to become a professional dancer, but I was too tall! I love 'Coppelia' and 'Swan Lake'.
"As a young ballerina, I was only allowed to wear my hair in a bun and make-up was banned. That influenced my tastes a lot. I only wear a small amount of concealer on my imperfections, a hint of cream blush (Blushing Fabric from Armani) and black mascara from L'Oréal Paris, that's it!"
The 21-year-old brunette isn't just a pretty face and has been fitting university classes into her packed schedule so she can turn her hand to business in future.
Karlie told France's L'Express newspaper: "I go to NYU whenever I have time. Last autumn, I took classes in capital investment and finance so I can set up my own company. I loved it!"
The star - who counts Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn among her best friends - believes it's important to give something back and cites supermodel Christy Turlington as her role model.
Karlie added: "My inspiration is Christy Turlington, she's an icon. After 30 years she's still working and she's an example of generosity thanks to her [Every Mother Counts] foundation."
