This year has definitely been all about the barely-there dress, with Jaimie Alexander taking the crown for most daring look.
But this was closely followed by Gwyneth Paltrow and Abbey Crouch.
Sheer has been a go-to look on the red carpet throughout 2013, but whilst most have opted for sheer panels along the hem or on the arm, others have pushed the boundaries a little further.
Jaimie Alexander was at the premiere of Thor: A Dark World when she shocked everyone with her barely-there Azzaro black dress. The sheer details obviously showed that she wasn’t wearing any underwear, and whilst she does have an amazing body, there’s a time and a place to show it off.
Gwyneth Paltrow kicked off this trend back in April when she was at the LA premiere for Iron Man 3. Her Antonio Berardi Fall 2013 gown was simply gorgeous, but, like Jaimie’s it was clear to see from her side panels that she was forgoing underwear.
Abbey Crouch even tried the look when she modelled a Julien Macdonald dress that was created specifically for Fashion for the Brave, and she was most certainly brave wearing such a revealing dress. The creation was covered in tiny Union Jack flags with sheer panels running down each length of the gown, showing off her side-boob and the fact that she was going commando.
And last but not least is Jennifer Lawrence’s sheer Dior gown which she wore to the LA premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. She paired the grey sheer fabric with a black body underneath and whilst some may have believed this look to be a little too much, we think it worked perfectly. This, in our eyes, was the perfect way to get the barely-there look right on the red carpet. Do you think we can expect more of these looks in 2014?
