Gwyneth Paltrow was once stung by a bee in the name of beauty.
Gwyneth Paltrow says the "craziest" beauty treatment she ever had was apitherapy - bee stings.
The 42-year-old actress is always the first to try the latest skincare trends, but believes apitherapy - which uses the insect's venom for medicinal purposes - was perhaps one step too far.
She told Marie Claire magazine: "The craziest treatment I've ever tried is when I was stung by a live bee. It's called apitherapy and it's apparently been used since Egyptian times to promote healing. For a more relaxing treat, I love Ila Bath Salts at the end of the day."
Gwyneth - who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin - has experimented with non-invasive cosmetic procedures like Botox in the past, but she is weary about go to the extreme.
The 'Sliding Doors' actress said: "You have to be very careful with Botox. I did it on my forehead and I looked awful. I also worry about what's going into my bloodstream. I'm 41, so I don't want to look 25. I think it's nice to see a life lived in someone's face.
"I would probably do a bit of filler again, but at the moment I see a facialist in LA called Sonya Dekar, who is amazing, so I use all her products and go to her for collagen-boosting laser treatments."
