Tell us a little bit about your new collection for Jacamo?
The whole collection is based on creating things I can wear. So for me, if I’m going out with my mates it’s probably one of the T shirts or polo shirts with jeans, then for smarter occasions, it’s a smart shirt or suit. It’s pretty much everything I need in my wardrobe.
It’s a collection that truly reflects my taste, so I hope people like it as much as I do.
What are your favourite pieces from the collection?
I like my clothes to look good as well as feel good, especially with summer coming up. I definitely get that from the Long
Sleeved Denim Tee with the Granddad collar. The Crest Polo is also one of my personal favourites... simply because it’s got my name on it!
Other key pieces include jeans, boots and checked shirts… Basically the collection has got everyday things you’d need. It’s also got smarter
stuff like suits.
How has this collection changed from the last one?
To reflect the seasonal change we have moved away from winter jackets and gilets to try and give guys a good choice of summer essentials like short sleeved shirts and polo’s, cargos pants as well as jumpers and hoodie’s.
There’s still great smart stuff though, like my three piece suit.
How would you describe your personal style?
My own personal style is smart, casual and comfortable. All of the clothes in my SS13 collection are things that like to wear and feel comfortable in. There’s nothing worse than feeling self-conscious about what you’re wearing.
What are your Spring/Summer fashion essentials?
I don’t think you can go wrong with a nice pair of jeans.
Other than your own collection, where else do you like to shop?
I’m not really a fan of shopping! This is why my Jacamo collection is great, it’s all available online! However, I will sometimes head to shops with my wife Rachel and I’ll pick something up for myself whilst she’s trying stuff on.
At the launch of your last collection you talked about maybe trying chinos out, has this happened yet?
Chinos might be some guys wardrobe staple but they’re just not really for me. As I said, I wouldn’t include anything in my collection that I wouldn’t feel comfortable in. As I said earlier, there’s nothing worse than feeling self-conscious about what you’re wearing.
Is there anything else that you wouldn't wear?
Socks and Sandals! I use to do it all the time when playing cricket. We’d come off the pitch, take our spikes off, put on our sandals and go and have lunch – what was I thinking!
Who do you think are well-dressed celebrity men?
I like the way that Beckham dresses, he really is quite sharp. Jamie Redknapp certainly sees himself as a good dresser. And sometimes I’d agree...
