Demi Lovato loves to use style to create different personalities.
The 22-year-old singer - who is known for her eccentric and colourful hairstyles - has confessed she enjoys constantly changing her look as it makes her feel as if she is portraying a "character".
Demi - who started out her career acting in the Disney movie 'Camp Rock' before signing a record deal with Hollywood records - told People magazine: "It's all about being confident and letting that radiate.
"It's fun to experiment with edgy looks or play a character that is completely different from myself - which is why I love acting because it allows you to step outside yourself for a moment."
The pretty 'Skyscraper' hitmaker - who is coming to the end of her recent world tour - added that despite her gruelling schedule, she has continued to work out in between her gigs to help keep up her stamina on stage.
She said: "Every performance on stage for my world tour is a workout, so I've been doing a lot of cardio to keep my stamina up and put on a great show for my fans."
Demi - who has been open about her struggles with depression and eating disorders in the past - also emphasised the importance of a healthy lifestyle in maintaining "mental well-being".
She said: "I think it's extremely important to take care of yourself and live a healthy lifestyle, because it affects your mental well-being as well."
