Jennifer Lawrence looked beautiful in Dior at the Oscars

The Oscars may have been and gone, but we're still fawning over the beautiful gowns that took to the red carpet.

From fairy-tale elegance to embellishment and ruffles, it seemed it was all about bare arms and shoulders with demure being the style of the evening.

Venus Celebrity Stylist, Angie Smith, reveals her coveted styling advice so you can recreate the red carpet looks at home.

Angelina Jolie wore a fine beaded gown that suited her skin tone to perfection! I particularly love how the sheer panels and low back revealed her famous body art.  When going for this look yourself, remember to keep your hair off the face and neckline like Ange. This is a great way to keep the look flattering and fresh when a lot of your skin is covered up!

Julia Roberts looked timeless in black lace; she kept her look very old school Hollywood by accessorising with classic diamond earrings and bracelets.  Take note, if you have a large bust the trick of lining the centre of your dress with a sheer version of the fabric is a top tip in the industry.

Jennifer Lawrence injected a much needed bolt of colour onto the carpet with her minimalist orange gown. Sticking to her tried and trusted strapless neckline she draped a diamond necklace across her collar bones letting it hang down her back and add interest to her look.  The soft peplum detail accentuated her curves and gave the gown another dimension, but when wearing a dress that's so fitted and structured it’s important that the hemline just hits the floor to avoid stumbling. Even if legs are hidden, always prepare for the worst by ensuring you create a hair-free base so that you can walk taller down the red carpet in confidence. I always use the Venus & Olay razor which have a luxurious scent of caramel and creamy peach, completed with base-notes of rich amber and soft musk, when you walk – team with killer heels that you are confident walking in!

Kate Hudson gets my vote as best dressed of the night; her gown is the perfect mix of old school Hollywood and modern elegance. I love the cape and shoulder detail which both further enhance the proportion of Kate's tiny waist. This is also a lesson in using accessories to enhance your look and never dominate.
