Kate Winslet, Cheryl Cole and Kelly Brook have all be spotted in the Herve Leger 'miracle' bandage dress of late, sparking a huge trend for body-con dresses this season.
The designer introduced the body-con dress in the early 1990s and since then, it has become something of a cult item. The manufacturing technique behind the garment is ribbons of elasticised fabric stitched into rows, which then has a corset-like effect on the body.
No wonder the celebrities are clamouring to own one, with Kate and Kelly both being spotted in the same colour in one week, while Cheryl's stunning emerald green version was something of a new style to the others already on the market.
Cheryl made headlines the next day, after she seemed to have magically grown a pair of huge boobs over night; the result of a secret boob job, or did the miracle dress strike again?
Well, it's a fairly safe bet to say that the dress that claims to suck, tuck and lift you up was responsible for Mrs Cole's massive cleavage on that occasion.
The same sort of reaction came when Kate Winslet wore the grey version to a recent premiere. Reports echoed around the world about how trim and toned she looked, but a dress can only do so much right?
Surely Kate's body underneath the dress was already in perfect shape? Well, it's hard to tell without giving the dress a go ourselves but she did look undeniably stunning, and claimed her weight loss was down to a pure pilates diet, rather than the wonder dress.
The high-street have done well to replicate the look to an extent, but the technique behind Leger's dress is difficult to get right without the costs sky-rocketing. As such, the high-street haven't tried to knock out carbon copies of the dress, which is just as well really, as we'd all have the style of the dress, but not the 'magic' effect that it's famous for.
With the festive period well and truly here, we predict that this celebrity trend will only gather more steam, as more and more A-listers clamour to get the perfect body this Christmas.
