As well as a beautiful selection of black gowns on the red carpet as last night's Golden Globes Awards, there were plenty of metallic numbers hitting the red carpet too.
Mila Kunis, Kate Beckinsale and Naomi Watts were just a few of our favourites. We go through their looks and more below.
Michelle Dockery spoke about her love for Golden Globes dress before the event, and it's easy to see why. Her silver-grey metallic and embellished Oscar de la Renta dress was gorgeous and Michelle ensured all the focus was on the dress with very little accessories, simple heels and glowing make-up. A pop of colour via her lips was all that was needed. Michelle loved her dress so much she also wore it to the after party.
Robin Wright chose a slinky gold dress from the Reem Acra Fall 2014 collection, the simple cut shows off her incredible figure.
Naomi Watts also went for a slinky gold number, hers from Tom Ford. The column halter gown features a gorgeous shimmering beaded design with a necklace design around the neck. Another beautiful look from the actress.
Kate Mara chose a futuristic metallic gown from J. Menel last night and the gorgeous actress kept the look simple as the dress was fairly detailed in design, with a deep v-neck, pleated shoulders, gathered waist and pleated sheer underlay there was plenty to see but she carried the look off well.
Olivia Wilde chose to cover up her baby bump in a shimmering green metallic Gucci Premiere gown with long sleeves. Olivia has managed to get it right throughout her pregnancy on the red carpet, something very rarely done right by celebrities.
Another Gucci Premiere gown came from Mila Kunis who wore a backless halter gown with seriouly embellished bodice that fell into a beautiful grey fluid skirt. We love the contrast of the top and the bottom of the gown. Ensuring all focus was on the detail, Mila pulled her hair back and opted for a soft smokey eye. Gorgeous as ever.
Our final pick for best metallic goes to Kate Beckinsale who looked picture perfect in Zuhair Murad Couture. The fully embellished silver gown with sweetheart neckline and mermaid hemline looks incredible on the actress.
