Barack Obama's family "reward him" when he wears colour.
The First Lady of the United States has admitted the President's style has "evolved" in recent years and he often surprises their daughters Natasha, 12, and Malia Ann, 15, when he goes for "wild choices".
Michelle explained in an interview with Access Hollywood: "He's upping his game. ... When he puts on a checked shirt, we go wild. ... [The kids are] like, 'Oh, dad has on colour!' 'Oh, dad, that's really good.' We reward him."
Although the famous couple have busy schedules, she insists it's easy to stay in touch since they live and work in the same place but when it comes to their kids it's easier to send text messages.
Asked about whether she texts her husband throughout the day, Michelle replied: "Not throughout the day. He wouldn't respond. But, we work and live in the same place.
"So it's one of those things like, if I really need to see him, I'll just walk downstairs. Like, 'Honey...' The kids and I - we text. That's how they communicate."
