We wouldn't be wrong in saying that there were a number of breathtakingly beautiful dresses on the Red Carpet at the 2012 Golden Globes.
It appeared to be all about the colour rather than the cut this year and whilst many got it right, there were a few who got it hideously wrong.
We’ve put together a collection of dresses then (some casual, some dressy) to show you what the most popular and successful colour schemes were at the event, and how you can wear the same shades for under £50.
Subtle yet stunning
A whole range of nude-coloured dresses graced the red carpet and they certainly didn’t disappoint. There was Kristen Wiig and Heidi Klum in tan, Angelina Jolie in ivory, Charlize Theron in pale pink, and Elle Macpherson and Diane Lane in champagne.

Classic black
People may think that wearing black to big events like the Globes is boring, but we think it’s a sleek and sophisticated look, so why not? Rooney Mara and Mila Kunis went for head to toe black, whereas others such as Zooey Deschanel spiced it up with a patch of colour (green). Other famous faces including Claire Danes and Kate Winslet went for a similar approach by wearing black dresses with blocks of white.

Bright and Beautiful
Reese Witherspoon, Stacy Keibler, Emily Blunt and Paula Patton all opted for brightly coloured dresses. Witherspoon and Keibler both rocked red, whilst the others made a statement in yellow.
