With news circulating Keira is to appear in a remake of the 1964 hit, My Fair Lady, we have to ask- Is Keira Knightley a modern day Audrey Hepburn, or simply another copycat?
Audrey Hepburn was arguably one of the most celebrated actresses of her time, and even today she is remembered for her natural screen beauty, fashion sense and vivacious personality.
Keira Knightley is arguably one of Britain's biggest stars, but does she really deserve to be compared to the likes of Audrey? Our initial reaction is a resounding no, but when you look a little closer it may not be that far off the mark.
This is especially true when it comes to fashion, as both share a very similar sense of style. They both have willowy, boyish frames that they like to dress down in jeans and blazers, but they can also rock a designer frock to perfection too.
They look uncannily alike at times too, with their pale porcelain skin, dark brown hair and huge brown eyes being eerily similar. It doesn't help that Keira sometimes looks like she has just fallen out of a period drama too, and doesn't quite 'fit' in this era.
Her beauty has often been compared with the screen greats, such as Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman and of course Audrey Hepburn, so does she have all of the qualities to become the new Audrey?
In terms of fashion, we'd venture a guess at yes- just look at her trouser suit she wore to a premiere this week, it was so Audrey-esque and masculine, it could have been worn by the gorgeous lady herself.
Then there was Keira's appearance at the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week- the tweed pencil skirt and simple blouse was elegant and chic, and once more comparisons were made to Audrey.
If she does get cast in My Fair Lady then this will only escalate, particularly if film stills are released and show Keira in similar costumes to those worn by Audrey in the 1964 classic.
Whatever the outcome, we're keeping our judgement in reserve until we hear more details, and if the film does get made, we'll be watching very closely to see if Keira's fashion hype really is worth getting bothered about.
