We don't know about you, but we're very excited about the release of Kate Winslet's new film, Revolutionary Road today. Not only does she reunite with the delicious Leonardo DiCaprio, but she also gets to wear some amazing 50s fashion.
Kate's been looking fabulous lately, flaunting her new trim body in a series of designer dresses, and this is also very present in the film. She has the same hair she sports now, only her fashion is obviously more retro.
Considering she's won a string of awards for her portrayal in this film, we think she's arguably got a great chance of scooping an Oscar next month, and if not...well, Kate at least you'll look good.
Back to the movie fashion, and as you'd expect everything is perfected to a tee. From her structured dresses, to cute driving gloves and gorgeous floral dresses, we can see this movie being a huge fashion inspiration this summer.
White jeans and denim shirts also make an appearance for a beach scene, which is amazingly on trend for this year too. It is of course optional whether you want to tie it up like Kate's version however, as we don't all have a tummy we're proud to bare!
Vintage fashion has made a huge comeback over the past few years, with celebrities and models all digging deep to find retro goodies to wear.
Period films such as this one also seem to be having a revival, and undoubtedly fashion trends are influenced by this. At the same time however, films now need to rely on fashion just as much, if people are to really believe the story they are being told.
Valkyrie and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button are prime examples of this, and when they too are released in the upcoming weeks, you can bet the fashion world will be watching.
In the meantime, we've scoured the high-street to find some of Kate's most memorable looks from Revolutionary Road, Enjoy!
