Boots.. Kate Moss what do they have in common - a must have buying frenzy...

Hundreds of shoppers queued outside Boots the Chemist from 5am to get their hands on a so-called miracle cream.

The No.7 Protect and Perfect anti "ageing serum is the latest must have cult item after it was featured on BBC2 Horizon programme last year.

A team of scientists, who were researching anti- ageing products, recommended the £16.75 cream for it’s wrinkle-busting qualities. 200, 000 pot of the serum were sent out to Boots stores today and there is a 100, 000 strong waiting list on-line.

The latest glut of must have items including Kate Moss’s Topshop range and Anna Hindmarch ‘ I am not a Plastic Bag’ have sparked similar queuing madness on the streets of the UK.

Dr Mike Isaac Senior Lecturer of Psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital in London said he believed that the mass behaviour is linked to’ the way we gain rewards from objects.’

He told the London paper:" It’s ironic because the item is essentially worthless but has been made desirable."
