Claudia Schiffer is launching her own jewellery range.

The German supermodel has created a line of trinkets, which launches later this year.

Schiffer is following in the footsteps of fellow supermodels Kate Moss, Elle Mc Pherson and Milla Jovovich who all have successful fashion and lifestyle collections.

The 36 year old has two children, four-year-old son Caspar Matthew and daughter Clementine de Vere Drummond, two, and lives in London with her film producer husband Matthew Vaughn.

The trend for celebrity designers is one of the major talking points in the fashion industry.

Celebrated designer Zac Posen recently told the fashion wire:"Fashion is a business; I don't see why celebrities can't be designers."

"I'm happy that celebrity designers hire great young designers and design teams."
