Celebrity Style Off: Emma Stone v Emma Watson

Celebrity Style Off: Emma Stone v Emma Watson

Emma Stone has had the biggest year of her career, seeing her star in not one, not two but three box office smashes alongside names including Ryan Gosling, Steve Carrol, Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis.

Similarly, 2011 hasn't exactly been a quiet one for Miss Emma Watson, who spent the summer wrapping up the biggest film franchise in history, the Harry Potter series.

So we've taken a trip down the trend carpet, to see which one of these young twentie-something stunners, to see which one wears it best...

Women of the White:

For her most recent red carpet appearance for the premiere of new film The Help, Miss Stone wore this stunning floorlength white gown, with polka dot pattern and black belt. While her red hair and lips contrast beautifully against the snow white dress and her pearly complexion, it isn't the most flattering of outfits we've seen Emma sporting. 6/10

Although Watson wore this a couple of years ago, we think that this is a classic red carpet look from the 21-year-old. It's simple and sophisticated, with just the right amount of detail at the shoulder. The slit up the front is not too high, but high enough to show Em's rocking some pins!  8/10

Lady in Lace:

The word that comes to mind when we look at Stone's style here is classic. The midi length peplum dress is mature and demure. Lace has become incredibly stylish on the red carpet, and here Emma is effortlessly shows off her curves. 8/10

Emma Watson also shows that black lace is one for her too. Opting to show off her lovely legs, Emma is showing that she has changed a lot since her first steps in the limelight. Her hair cut suits the feathered skirt of this outfit which is made edgier by her smoky eye shadow. 8/10

Golden Girls:

Everything about Emma Stone's outfit here is winning. The gold and black dress teamed with orange shoes and clutch look great together. The dress is dressy but keeping her look fresh and fun. There's a lot of detail in the dress and so keeping the accessories and hair simple is a great way to balance it. 9/10

We're not too sure about Miss Watson's look. There's an awful lot of material making up the skirt of this dress, which seems to overpower the simple top half and sleek hair style. Heavy on the eye makeup, perhaps the dress would have suited some nude/neutral tones and extended lashes. 6/10.

While Emma Watson might have won this style battle, few can argue that when Miss Stone gets it right, she gets it so right. And even when she gets it wrong, it's not that bad either.
