We're kicking off Bond Month in style at Female First by opening up a debate about the classic British spy. Over the next few weeks we'll be bringing you Bond Fashion, how to look like a Bond Girl and just which Bond is best.

We all have a favourite one who has tickled our fancy at one time, whether it's classic Connery, suave Brosnan or hard-man Craig. There have been plenty of jaw-dropping moments over the 21 Bond films and with Bond 22 set for release a mere 30 days away, we thought it was time to ask the age old question- Who is your favourite Bond?

Lets start at the very beginning...

Sean Connery

For many, it does not get better than Connery's tough, sophisticated and classy take on James Bond. He was and probably still is the guy who made all the girls go weak at the knees, and what's more- he's still got it.

Maybe it's the accent that does it, but when he first appeared in Dr No. (1962) and uttered the immortal line "The name's Bond...James Bond' you just knew he would be a hard act to follow.

George Lazenby took over the role for one Bond movie- On Her Majesty's Secret Service, only to quit the role, and for Connery to be reinstated for his final Bond film, Diamonds are forever. Over to you Roger Moore...

Roger Moore

Roger first made his debut in the classic Live and Let Die in 1973 and was hailed as a an adequate successor to Connery's Bond.

He overstayed his welcome ever so slightly (ok, a lot) when he appeared in a View to Kill (1985) and it is largely regarded as the worst Bond movie ever. It's not hard to see why really, because by this point he had played Bond for over a decade and had started to look his age.

Hardly the image of gorgeous, dare-devil, Irresistible Bond that we were used to by this point. He had to go, and was replaced by relative newcomer Timothy Dalton.

Timothy Dalton

Poor Timothy, he never really caught on as Bond and inadvertently caused the death of the franchise until 1997. He only appeared in only two Bond movies: The Living Daylights and Licence To Kill and never really had time to make an impact on the audience.

And it wasn't like he didn't check all the standard Bond boxes either; he was good-looking, sophisticated and had dark hair. It was a little unfair really, because litigation caused a delay for six years before the next Bond film, by which time a younger actor called Pierce Brosnan had filled the gap.

Pierce Brosnan

Pierce resurrected Bond in 1997 with a stunning performance in Goldeneye and whispers even started to circulate that he had replaced Connery as the more popular Bond ever.

He was certainly the best looking Bond of the modern age, and had more than a little look of Connery about him anyway. He continued to wow in four more films before he was ditched in favour of taking Bond in a new direction. Enter Daniel Craig.

Daniel Craig

Craig was a very odd choice to replace Brosnan as Bond. For a start he was blond, and who ever heard of a blond bond? The fans hated him so much that they had a site dedicated to get him sacked at the 007 spy.

Everything that you could imagine Craig being criticised for, he was, and then...Casino Royale. In that one film, he silenced his critics, bought Bond bang up-to-date for the 21st century and had all the ladies swooning after his gorgeous body in tight Speedos.

So there you have it.. Who is your favourite Bond?
