More women than ever are going blonde in a bid to beat the doom and gloom of the recession.
According to celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton, he has seen a whopping 67% surge in people wanting his blonde hair products, compared to last year.
Barton revealed: "I don't believe it is purely a coincidence that there's been a huge sales rise in blonde hair products during these tough financial times," reports Marie Claire.
"Many of my female clients say they feel more confident, more youthful and more attractive when they go blonde and they get more attention."
"With only 10% of UK women having naturally blonde hair, choosing to be blonde must be more than about how you look."
Interestingly enough, this news comes hot on the heels of Asda's poll to find out what people think about blondes.
Unsurprisingly 90% of male respondents said they believed blondes have more fun, while a poll of 1,200 customers associated blonde hair with being sexy and extrovert.
