I was thrilled when I found out that all of Superdrug's own brand products were cruelty free. Consequently I rushed down when my shampoo and conditioner ran out and bought myself some of their Superdrug Extracts shampoo and Conditioner Raspberry & Macadamia 400ml.
At only £2.29 per bottle they were a bargain compared to some of previous purchases in hair care.
First impressions were that they both smelled good enough to eat- really fruity and fresh- I was eager to get them home and try them out.
In the shower, it filled the room with it delightful smell, however I needed a lot of product to work up a lather; however it was so reasonable at the cash register that I wasn't too worried about running out fast- at first.
Sadly, this is where the product went rapidly downhill for me. I could feel my hair knotting up as I used it- the conditioner was watery and didn't seem to anything to repair the damage the shampoo had done- it rinsed out really quickly.
When it came to styling, my hair was a nightmare to get the comb through and it became in such bad shape that it was coming out in clumps it was so tangled.
This product had a lot of promise from price to smell, however it just didn't deliver after that. It had an attractive price point, however you have to use a lot of it so buying something that's more expensive that will last you longer is better for your purse in the long run.
One star for smell, one start for price but sadly it's lost the other three for making my hair go from shiny and glossy, to dull and matted and for its failure to protect my colour which is what it's supposedly designed for.
