Victoria Beckham sticks to her plum coloured nails for spring

Rejoice, because we are finally in spring, and with that comes the arrival of some hot new nail colours for you to try out.

As hard as you may find it initially to ditch the gothic black and plum colours you've sported over the past few months, it's time to clean up your nails for the new season and try something new.

Our favourite fashionable celebs have already been papped working their new nail colours for the season, so why not take some style inspiration from them?

We've had Drew Barrymore sporting her baby pink nails recently, while Kylie and Scarlett Johansson have been sampling bright red nails for recent award ceremonies and events.

Rihanna on the other hand has been sticking to her guns with her navy blue nails, and so has Victoria Beckham with a new shade of devilishly dark plum.

With this in mind, FemaleFirst have compiled our Top 5 favourite shades for spring...

Mint Green: Scary initially, but honestly you'll be loving this look when the weather hots up. The contrast against your tanned skin alone will look fab and since Lily Allen has already been spotted working the colour, you know it's bound to catch on soon.

Coral: This is the number one shade for the months ahead and has already been spotted on Kate Beckinsale, among others. A more toned down version of  milky red combined with a hot pink is the shade of coral you want to go for this spring.

Nude: Make-up is going nude for the spring, so it makes sense that your nails should be following suit. Seen on Eva Longoria and Posh recently, make sure to get a manicure before opting for a nude shade, as it will show up everything!

Silver: This colour is a one to watch for the months ahead, as we think it will be big news for the autumn too. Start wearing it now and you'll be one step ahead of the fashion pack this season.

Mushroom: A bit of a strange one, we admit, but the mushroom shade is set to be a popular one over the summer months. Get in on the act early and start 'shrooming your nails now!
