Get ready for Autumn Winter 14 with our hair tips from ghd global creative director Sam McKnight who created the sexy, undone look on the Marios Schwab runway.
“The key to this look is unkempt, natural beauty. Using the ghd eclipse styler, we created a loose, free wave in the hair, reflecting the woman that inspired the Marios Schwab collection,” explains Sam.
For Autumn/Winter 2014, Marios Schwab envisages an authentic character, creating pieces that fit within her world. The collection concisely illustrates her personality, a world of opposites and reflected irregularities – an anticipated marriage of raw darkness with a softer romance. Androgynous elements tone down glamourised ideals of femininity, while hardwear detailing hints at a raw-edged beauty.
Sam wanted to reflect this natural authenticity in the hair; the look is relaxed and feminine but with a rebellious edge. This is not about overloading the hair with product to create a contrived, unnatural look, but is about allowing the hair to remain defiantly and confidently free to move and to fit within the world of this strong Marios Schwab woman.
