Some top selling lipsticks fail to live up to their claims of long lasting colour, according to research.
Many of the most famous brand stay-put lipsticks fail to stay on during eating, drinking and kissing- despite what they claim in advertising, says the new report by Which?
The consumer watchdogs tested 342 "long lasting" lipsticks from 17 brands and found supermodel Jemma Kidd's Ultimate Lip Duo (£9.50) one of the worst performers.
"We've tried the Jemma Kidd Ultimate Lip Duo with and without the balm undercoat - and the colour still comes off," says Which?
Equally disappointing were Estee Lauder's Signature Lipstick and Clinique's Long Lasting Lipstick.
But they still finished ahead of Rimmel's Lasting Finish Intensive Wear, Boots' No7 Stay Perfect, Elizabeth Arden's Plump Perfect and Revlon's Colour Stay Soft and Smooth.
Top was Mac Pro Longwear Lipcolour, costing £15.50 followed by Maybelline's Superstay lipstick, which cost £7.58 for a tube.
