Jewel Colours Rock

Jewel Colours Rock

The high-street is awash with jewel colours at the minute, from bright coats to fun party dresses making an appearance. But the real exciting news is that your beauty routine is soon to be revamped with the gorgeous selection of jewel coloured make-up on offer.

This autumn is all about bold, bright statements in your wardrobe and in every other aspect of your life. We're not talking about crazy clashing colours, courtesy of Michaela off Hollyoaks, but more subtle jewelled eyes and lips that will brighten up those dowdy days.

The brighter the better we say! So here is our pick of the jewelled beauties hitting the shops this month...

Lips

Bright pink or shocking red is the only way to colour your lips this autumn, so forget nude or bare lips because they just won't work for this trend.

We're loving Benefit's Posie and Bene Tint range that leave your lips stained for a mere £22. If that's a little bit pricey then check out Rimmel's shock gloss £3.99 or Bourjois lovely brill lipstick, £6.95 in rocking pink.

Eyes

This is the easiest way to work some colour into your look. You may opt for a little glitter at the weekend, but this trend is about colourful glamour night and day.

Barry M do some great colourful options and at budget prices- perfect for the credit crunch at the moment. Try their funky dazzle dust, £4.50, which comes in a range of colours to give your eyes an instant lift.

Or give one of their mascara's (£4.95) a go if you dare, as they come in every colour imaginable. If you're still a bit scared, then layer it over your normal mascara, so that when your eyes catch the light, people will be dazzled!

Mac also do a great range of funky eye shadows for £10, which suits this trend perfectly. Their highly-pigmented powder means that it will apply well and evenly, which is always a good thing when you're working with colour this bright! And Gosh by Superdrug have come up with a range of bright eyeliners for just £7, to complete your eye make-over.

Cheeks

Take a tip from your lips and follow suit with shocking pink cheeks. Bobbi Brown (£16) has a gorgeous range of flush for your cheeks, which will give you a real rosy glow this autumn.

If the weather doesn't get chilly, you can fake that 'cold glow' with this beauty. The diverse shades of Bobbi's Blush offer the best way to give cheeks colour and the matte finish means that it is long lasting and looks natural.

Also check out Maybelline's range of dream mousse blushers for £5.99, which blend easily and give a slightly less subtle colour than most pink blushers.

Nail Varnish

Forget boring black and dull grey, liven up your nails with some pop art colour! Try shocking pink, tomato red, electric blue and violet for a colourful new you.

Again we're loving Barry M's bargain range (£2.95) and also check out Miss Sporty at Superdrug (£1.99) for their cool range of shocking varnishes.
