Have you tried oil cleanser?

Taking care of your skin is as important as it is difficult. Often people are unaware of their skin type and thus are unable to take care of it adequately. Skin types include normal, oily, dry and sensitive. Some people can also have a combination of skin types on different areas. For instance, the area around the mouth can be particularly dry whilst the forehead can be oily.

Understanding your skin is the first step in finding the right product.

With numerous products on the market one would think it would be an easy task to find a good moisturiser. However, more often than not we end up choosing the wrong product due to false advertisement or simply because we are unaware of what is best suited for our skin.

So, how do you find the right solution for your skin amongst the seemingly endless choice of products?

Adam, beauty expert at Nude Skincare, advises: ‘Start by washing your face. Take off all of your make up, cleanse every bit of grime and dirt. And take a good look at your skin.  How does it feel?’ Baring your skin and taking the time to feel and assess it, will give you the perfect starting point in finding the right treatment for your skin.

If your skin feels tight and uncomfortable, it is probably time to change your cleanser. Cleansers should make your skin feel soft and reinvigorated. Cleaners have different textures and you should choose one depending on your skin type. A rough scrub won’t be ideal for sensitive skin, but can help very oily ones.

If you haven’t tried an Oil cleanser, it is a must. It is ideal for all skin types whether dry, oily or sensitive. It melts away make-up residuals and gives you a perfect smooth feeling. However, ‘Make sure the one you use is mineral oil free, which is a petroleum by product known to clog pores’, Adam states.

The next step is to understand exactly what you want to improve in your skin. Once you know the answer you can look for a targeted treatment, whether it be an eye wrinkle treatment, dry skin, dark circle treatment and so on.

Most moisturisers will be suitable for day and night use, the key is to look for the right texture. For oily skins use a lighter moisturiser in order not to block pores.  For dry skin use a creamier base product. If you have normal skin, opt for a water base moisturiser in order to maintain the natural balance of your skin.

The most important thing is to understand your skin and make sure you take good care of it. By nourishing your skin you are more likely to keep it looking young and healthy.
